Shelf-edge labelling
The mobile printer enables the shelf labels to be printed at the shelf edge. Retailers need to print new shelf-edge labels if the original one is incorrect, damaged or lost or if they have new products to put on the shelf. The return on investment for mobile printing is based on eliminating the walk time between the back office and the aisle and reducing media wastage caused by laser-printing small volumes of labels on A4
sheets.
The mobile printer is mainly used for smaller print runs of shelf labels but for high-volume print runs (where thousands of price changes are made), labels can be printed on a table-top printer like the ZM400™ or S4M™. These printers would usually be located in the store’s back office.
